TRAINING CLASSES

Dogs attending the Club are required to be inoculated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Parvovirus - Vaccination Certificate to be produced by all new members upon joining.

Please leave your dog at home if it is ill or in season - feel welcome to attend to observe.   Please feel free to discuss any particular dog problem with your trainer, before or after the classes, but please direct medical questions to your Vet.   If necessary, your trainer may refer you to a behavioural specialist.

We welcome new members - we actively encourage families and children to join in our fun and informative classes.

Good Citizens Classes

CLASS VENUE

Classes take place on THURSDAY evenings

COST:  classes are payable 2 weeks in advance for the whole course term

   Puppy Class  :  £7 per class (course length will be either 6 or 7 classes)

   Kennel Club (KC) Good Citizens  :  £6 per class (course length will be either 6 or 7 classes)

Please arrive in good time to sign in, settle your dog and be ready to start the class on time.

PUPPY CLASS
For puppies under 20 weeks old - basic training / handling for your puppy & socialisation.   Puppy trainers will guide you through the Puppy Foundation Assessment - visit the Kennel Club's Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Scheme

JUNIOR / TRANSITIONAL CLASS
For older puppies and beginners - building upon basic training / control within a small group environment.   Puppies and Juniors may then progress through the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme (KCDGS), providing increasing levels of dog management and obedience.   Your trainer will inform you of the test requirements, the test dates and will confirm when you are ready for the test.

KC BRONZE CLASS
The Bronze Award aims to provide the handlers with a basic knowledge of understanding and training their canine companion.

KC SILVER CLASS
The Silver Award aims to provide handlers with a good knowledge of understanding and training their canine companion.

KC GOLD CLASS
Building up to advanced obedience standards - dogs awarded a Gold Award should be a worthy representative of the Scheme’s highest standard.

COMPETITION CLASS
This builds upon previous training and prepares for obedience competitions.

MONDAY  -  6.15 pm to 9.30 pm

COST: £85 for a 10 week course, payable in advance on the first session.

All sizes of dogs are welcome but dogs must be at least 10 months old and no older than 4 years when joining. Note that there is a waiting list for these classes so it is advisable to apply ahead. Dogs must be on lead at all times except when directed by the trainer.

Although agility is great fun, you do need a good level of basic control with your dog and you will be assessed for this before joining classes.

Dogs progress through Foundation, Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and Advanced Classes.

COST: £42.00 for a 7 week course - payable in advance for the whole course

ALL ABILITIES CLASS  -  7.45pm to 8.45pm  -  STUDIO HALL

Heelwork to Music (HTM).   Classes are held in the Studio at Grayshott Village Hall at 7:45pm on Thursday evenings.   Some minimum obedience requirements apply.

Classes instructed by Gina Pink who has been competing in Heelwork To Music since 1997.  She is a Member of the Kennel Club, sits on the KC HTM Working Party and represents Heelwork To Music on the KC Activities Sub-Committee.   She is also a KC Accredited Trainer in Heelwork To Music and has organised the Heelwork To Music Final competitions at Crufts since 2006 - in 2007 winning the Crufts HTM class with her working sheepdog, Tapper.   Come along and get inspired with our classes.
